Popis pozice

Imagine your work contributing to safer and more efficient transportation for the future.

Imagine that every calculation, analysis, or key decision you make can impact thousands of passengers and freight operations around the world. At Siemens Mobility, we believe that modern technology is a powerful tool for maximizing the value of our vehicles — with reliability and operational efficiency at its core.

Our team is part of Locomotive Engineering and specializes in RAM/LCC — Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Life Cycle Costs. We view locomotives as fully integrated systems, with the goal of ensuring they meet the most demanding requirements of the 21st century.

Our locomotives are known for their high reliability, achieved not only through advanced and proven design, but also through an efficient maintenance concept. We build on supplier input data and, most importantly, on extensive operational datasets collected from vehicles in service. These insights allow us to continuously optimize our technical solutions, reduce life cycle costs, and deliver maximum value to our customers.

We play a key role in the introduction of the innovative Life Cycle Intelligence (Li) system, which connects RAM/LCC expertise with operational vehicle data and artificial intelligence. This approach is a cornerstone of our future success.

Do you have an analytical mindset, enjoy working with numbers and spreadsheets, and like digging into data? Within the Engineering Projects department, we are looking for a new colleague who sees reliability analysis, life cycle cost calculations, and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies as an exciting new challenge.

If this sounds interesting and you would like to be part of a team shaping the future of rail transport, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing RAM (reliability and availability) and LCC (life cycle cost) analyses for locomotives and their subsystems, including analysis of operational data
  • Independently implementing RAM/LCC processes in projects and creating RAM/LCC specifications for systems and components
  • Supporting and coordinating RAM/LCC activities throughout the development of rail vehicles, in close cooperation with other specialists
  • Regular communication with internal and external partners (e.g. design engineers, customer service, purchasing, customers, suppliers)
  • Developing vehicle maintenance concepts and plans using innovative, condition-based maintenance approaches

Requirements

  • University degree in a technical field (e.g. mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, transport engineering)
  • Experience in the rail vehicle industry, ideally in development, commissioning, or maintenance roles
  • Knowledge of reliability, availability, maintainability, and life cycle costs (LCC), including experience with RAM and LCC calculations
  • Strong analytical thinking and enthusiasm for working with numbers and data sets
  • Experience with RAM/LCC in complex technical projects, with responsibility for defined tasks or system areas
  • Fluent English and Czech for daily communication; basic German is an advantage
  • Ability to present results to customers and internal departments, with strong communication skills for working with suppliers and project management
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel
