Junior Catastrophe Modeller

What the day will look like

You will work with our client teams and colleagues in Prague and across Europe to learn how to provide catastrophe modelling and analytical support to our clients and the reinsurance market. Your tasks will include:

• ▪Running natural catastrophe models to help quantify the likelihood and severity of natural catastrophes for property portfolios of insurance companies.
• ▪Communication about technical solutions in a digestible manner with both clients and colleagues from broking team.
• ▪Collaboration with R&D teams on testing and evaluation of catastrophe models.
• ▪Contributing to research and development of ideas to improve the existing models and tools.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• ▪Finished university studies in natural sciences, data analysis, statistics or similar field
• ▪Knowledge of MS Office
• ▪Knowledge of a scripting or programming language (e.g. SQL, Python or R) may come handy
• ▪Good communication skills in English
• ▪Strong technical problem-solving skills
• ▪Capability to work in a team, independently and ability to prioritize work effectively.
• ▪Flexibility and self-motivation, positive approach to work
