Work LocationUNIC Prague, In-Person, Part-Time Expected duration3 to 6 months maximum Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis position is located in the United Nations Information Centre in Prague (UNIC Prague), within the Information Centres Service (ICS), Department of Global Communications. The UNIC Prague is the principal source of information about the United Nations system in Czech Republic. The Information centre is responsible for promoting public understanding and support for the aims and activities of the United Nations by disseminating UN information materials to a local audience in English and Czech; engaging local and regional partners; and, overall, bringing the United Nations closer to the people it serves. The incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Head of Office. Internship is for three (3) months part-time, in-person with an opportunity for extension up to a maximum of six (6) months, depending on the needs of the department. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Fluency in spoken and written Czech is also required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is desirable. Additional InformationThe intern will assist with the coverage of events, production of communication products and assist with the media monitoring, updates of UNIC’s websites and basic administrative tasks. 3–5 social media post per week 1 social media post related to each UNIC events Daily press review Weekly updated of UNIC websites Help during UNIC events Intern Specific textInterns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
