At Siemens Foundation Technologies, we are responsible for the development, verification, and maintenance of the SIMATIC ET 200 Fail-safe IO product family, designed for safety-related applications in accordance with IEC 62061 (up to SIL 3) and EN ISO 13849-1 (up to PL e).

Development is carried out under a well-defined safety lifecycle compliant with IEC 61508, and the process is regularly supervised by an external assessor (TÜV). Our products feature robust hardware designs with redundant ARM-based microcontrollers and are developed in close cooperation with colleagues in Germany and Austria.

You will be involved in developing embedded firmware in C/C++, as well as in thorough verification using automated integration and system testing, ensuring the highest level of safety, reliability, and quality.

Your task will be

• ▪Solid experience with C++ programming, including object-oriented principles
• ▪Basic knowledge of embedded systems development and microcontroller constraints
• ▪Ability to understand (and ideally create) basic UML diagrams
• ▪High level of attention to detail, especially when working with documentation and safety-related topics
• ▪Basic understanding of hardware interfaces (e.g. SPI, UART) and willingness to work with lab equipment (oscilloscope)
• ▪Communicative level of English, both spoken and written
• ▪Independence, responsibility, and a strong motivation to learn

• ▪Previous exposure to testing of industrial or safety-related modules
• ▪Strong interest in functional safety and willingness to further specialize in this area
