Octo Games is an international gamedev studio with a legal entity in the Netherlands.

We create commercial game projects for the Steam audience and support them at every stage - from the initial idea, script, and visual direction to release, post-launch support, and further development.

Our main focus is Adult Visual Novels and story-driven games, where every scene contributes to the atmosphere, character development, and emotional engagement of the player.

Since 2017, the team has released more than 200 projects and built an international audience around its games.

We work remotely and bring together professionals from different countries who are interested in creating atmospheric and commercially successful games.

Projects

We are currently looking for a 3D Character Animator who will help us make characters more lively, flexible, and expressive. In our projects, animation is not just the movement of a model - it is part of the character’s personality, the mood of the scene, and the player’s emotional experience.

For you, this is an opportunity to work on real commercial projects with an existing audience, releases, and visibility on Steam.

For which tasks (responsibilities)?

• ▪Create character animations;
• ▪Work with keyframes, animation curves, and movement timing;
• ▪Set up and adapt loop animations;
• ▪Use NLA / Non-Linear Animation in Blender;
• ▪Make sure animations meet project requirements;
• ▪Meet deadlines and follow the team’s production rhythm;
• ▪Collaborate with other team members to ensure animations fit naturally into game scenes.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

We are looking for a specialist who

• ▪Is confident working in Blender;
• ▪Understands the principles of 3D character animation;
• ▪Knows how to work with NLA / Non-Linear Animation;
• ▪Has experience creating loop animations;
• ▪Has at least 6 months of experience in 3D character animation (gamedev);
• ▪Understands the basics of movement, weight, body mechanics, and character expressiveness;
• ▪Pays attention to detail;
• ▪Can work in a team and receive feedback calmly.

Nice to Have

• ▪Experience with Unity and/or Unreal Engine;
• ▪Interest in visual novels and story-driven games;
• ▪Understanding of how pose, movement, rhythm, and body language affect the player’s emotions and perception of a scene.
